September

September is a great month to visit the Algarve - the temperatures hover around the mid to high 20's (in the shade) and often reach the mid 30's in the sun. There may be the odd shower or overcast day, but nothing to stop you getting out and about. T-shirt and shorts are still the order of the day; there is no need to queue for a table at your favourite restaurant; there's more room on the beaches and all the water sports and golf are still available!

Fisherman's Festival in Albufeira

The fishermen's beach, with its fragrant sea breezes, is the setting for the festival !! Izzy’s Sunset Beach Party

 

Come to Izzy's for the best sunset beach parties around. Every Sunday throughout September until late enjoy fab sounds with guest DJS and party til the sun goes down. Sip some sangria, sample the cocktails, dance in the sand and have a blast. Come just for the sunset sessions or book a table for lunch and enjoy the whole afternoon by the sea. The Natural Meat Co invites you to a sizzling BBQ showcooking afternoon! 

Stop off at their shop in Almancil between 3pm and 6pm any Thursday for a very tasty treat. Plus you'll get to meet the chefs from Parrilla Natural and Gourmet Natural, learn a few new recipes and maybe even pick up a few trade secrets!

 

FIESA 2016 – 14th Edition of the International Sand Sculpture Festival in Pêra, Algarve: FIESA is the largest sand sculpture exhibition ever built, attracting thousands of visitors every year. This year the theme is music and as always the sand is hand-carved by sculptors from around the world using 40,000 tonnes of sand, covering 15,000m², with some sculptures reaching 12 metres in height! Entrance costs 9€ for adults 4.50€ for kids from 6 to 12 years (up to 5 years get in free) and there’s a 15% discount for over 65s. 3rd Stage of the Rota do Petisco 2016 – 9th September to 9th October: Enjoy an odyssey of flavours from the Algarve as the third and final stage of our famous gastronomic tasting trail taking place in Portimão. It’s just 3€ for a "pestisco" dish and a drink.

 

Quiz night at Lennon’s Bar & Grill, Almancil
